A Seeding Crew Built Around Austin's Rock and Clay

Elite Hydroseeding Austin sprays seed and mulch on new lawns, builder lots, commercial pads, road shoulders and slopes across Austin and the surrounding counties. Around the seeding itself we handle the prep and protection a Central Texas job tends to need: fine grading and topsoil, silt fence and inlet protection, erosion control blankets and hydromulch, and native grass and wildflower seeding for acreage and open space.

The name is simply what we call the business. What matters more is that the ground here is unusual. Austin straddles the Balcones Fault. West of it, the hills are mostly limestone under a thin skin of topsoil, and storm runoff off those hills is the reason parts of the city flash flood. East of it, the land flattens into heavy clays and loams, some with strong shrink-swell behavior that makes them hard to work in most moisture conditions. A seed bed that works in Lakeway would fail in Hutto, and the reverse. We plan every job around the soil it sits on.

The climate pushes the other way. Camp Mabry's 1991 to 2020 normals count roughly 123 days each year that reach 90 degrees or more, and May is the wettest month. That leaves real windows for warm-season grass and real risks for anyone who sprays at the wrong time.

How we work

  • We walk the site first and look at soil depth, slope, drainage paths and water access
  • You get a written, itemized quote that lists square footage, seed mix, mulch type and any grading, fence or blanket work
  • Seed is matched to sun, soil and use: Bermuda for full-sun lawns, buffalograss and native mixes where water is tight
  • Bare ground near streets, inlets or creeks gets silt fence or other sediment control before we disturb it
  • On larger sites we work to your stormwater plan and keep our part of it documented
  • We tell you how to water, when to expect sprouts and when to mow, in writing
